A solution of 4,5-dichloro-1,3-dibutylimidazol-2-ylidene
(0.20 g,0.80 mmol),previously dissolved in THF (20 cm3)
cooled to \220 \3C,was added to a suspension of MoO2Cl2
(0.16 g,0.80 mmol) in THF (10 cm3) at \220 \3C.When theaddition was completed an orange solution was rapidly
formed.The reaction mixture was stirred for 2 h at low
temperature and was filtered.The filtrate was concentrated
in vacuo to dryness to afford an orange solid of the title
compound 5 (0.28 g,80%),which was washed with n-hexane.
