是一个宾语从句,作形容词happy的宾语.而不是状语从句.至于连接词,在非正式语体中经常被省略,在口语中更然.

She was happy。是主句，是完整的句子，I asked是状语从句表示原因，因为我问了，所以She was happy.
当定语没法解释。定语从句要修饰名词的，这里的happy显然是当形容词用。
首先有很多从句是没有连接词的，特别是定语从句，很多时候都省略了，应该是做定语
