经历过日战、种族暴动、炸弹袭击,还有种种其他动荡,新加坡政府了解国防的重要性,可是由于人口少、地方小又难防守,所以只好规定男生必须强制性服兵役,再重金砸入国防预算.
这里有它的利与弊,而弊带来了不少问题.尤其有了经济发展,国家越加繁荣,人民越是注重于经济和财富,还有其他社会问题,警惕心就大大地减低了,开始质疑国防政策：兵役多少年才算足够,国防预算是不是花费太高,等等之类的问题.还少数人开始拖延,甚至逃兵役,有些还蒙生想要移民的念头...这些都是建设国的绊脚石.
我不是专家,只是稍微试一试,不一定正确,不过希望能助于你的思路.
