My Future City
I am really thinking alot about Chicago lately...that's where my favorite guy is from. I've been in Texas all my life (except for that one year in Connecticut...I was 12) and I have this bad itch to go somewhere else and experience something really different. The other day I was poking around on a real estate website and looking at houses in Chicago. Man are they expensive! I found this awesome victorian in Wrigleyville that was like $500,000 bucks. Yikes. It's not even that much bigger than the house I have now. There was also a condo on Lake Shore Drive. It's beautiful. That was also around $500 grand. I know my favorite guy and I will get there someday soon, I just sometimes get really antsy. It's like I'm in a life rut. I am happy and I like my life, I just want to shake it up with some new surroundings. Everything in my town is getting old...the fun places I used to go are all gone or different now. It seems like crime is taking over the city. I do have great friends here tho. I know Chicago is a much bigger city, but, correct me if I'm wrong, I think the crime is lower there.crazy. I whine about the cold here, but it's going to be much colder up in Chicago. Hopefully, I won't drive my favorite guy crazy going "Hunny, I'm freeeeeezing!" Hee hee. I complain about the heat too, so, maybe he's used to it by now! Plus it would be great to really see the change of seasons...I watched a tape of Chicago sites set to Vivaldi's Four Seasons. That was a really cool video. You could see very distinct seasons. It just seems like there would be so much going on in Chicago that I'd never be bored. Wherever you live, you're never far from a park, there's a beach and a lake and it's all right downtown. There's a rich history to the city that I'd love to explore. There's live music, old speakeasy pubs, and posh restaurants. It sounds so great. But "they" always say the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. I hope that's the case with Chicago. Boy I better get to work if I'm gonna have enough moolah to live up there.
