leave 是瞬间动作,而这边for a few minutes表示延续了一段时间,所以只能选A才表示持续的动作.
在完成时态里这是主要考点,碰到持续一段时间的用法要注意谓语动词不能为瞬间动作.例如,这本书我借了有两个星期了就不能用borrow,应该是I have had the book for two weeks.其他的还有：join——be a member of ;begin---be on; end--be over; buy---have

后面有for a few minutes，表示一段时间，left是瞬间动词所以不能用，要用一个表状态的词，后面用的是didn’t，所以前面也用与过去相关的事态，所以选A吧~

for a few minutes 是时间段 同时也是完成时标志，要用延续性动词，left的延续性动词为been away from，又因为后边有when we arrived，所以前面要用过去完成时had。
